This was a game they had to win. Loosing to this same team earlier in the tournament dropped them down to the loser's bracket. Not only did they have to beat a very good Lincroft team but they had to beat them twice. After dropping into the loser bracket in his double elimination tournament, one more loss meant the end of their quest. Since Lincroft was unbeaten, Freehold Twp. must win two games against this opponent to claim the championship. With this goal in mind they promised themselves that they would play their best and leave it all on the field and bring home the championship for their friends who died when they were hit by a car while skateboarding just as the season began. Their efforts paid off by beating Lincroft twice in two days with total team effort. Coming from behind in the first game,playing outstanding baseball in the field and with their bats, these 12 year old boys showed what true champions are made of.
